It’s amazing what treasure you can find in your backyard if you just take a look.
That’s the idea behind Wednesday night’s New to the Frew gathering, a joint project between town staff and the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce that their Executive Director Gail Laird notes has been connecting residents laying down roots in the community for years.
She calls the evening at the myFM Centre like a “one-stop shop” for building relationships with people in the know on where to find not only helpful resources but also chances to be a part of what’s happening in town every day.
The event has become a popular annual meet-and-greet for local businesses and service providers, and Laird adds that people on both sides of the new community member experience regularly drop by the Chamber of Commerce’s office after the fact to learn even more about life in Renfrew.
The doors open for New to the Frew at the myFM’s Community Hall at 6:00 pm this Wednesday, September 17th.
