The annual Renfrew County Warden’s Golf Tournament gives back once again.
County Warden Peter Emon and CAO Craig Kelley presented the $8,500 raised in the tournament to two important county services.
Funds were split equally between the Family and Children’s Services (FCS) of Renfrew County and the County of Renfrew Housing and Homelessness Fund.
Each organization was given $4,250.
The FCS funding will be directed towards their Darlene Aikens Memorial Summer Camp Fund which will help send more than 70 local kids to summer camp.
Jennifer White, executive director of FCS, said this funding is a direct investment into the future of the youth.
“These donations send a powerful message to our youth: their future matters,” White said.
Jennifer Dombroskie, manager of Community Housing, said this funding will have a big impact on their services.
“This support is just the beginning of what’s needed and it truly makes a difference,” Dombroskie said.
