The Renfrew Fair continues a storied history of entertaining the Ottawa Valley as it enters its 170th year over the September 4th weekend.
Hype is building for what is expected to be another sensational celebration of the community’s strong agricultural roots, featuring horse and cattle shows, 4-H demonstrations, and plenty of high-paced livestock auctions that the fair’s administrative coordinator, Judy Dobec, says require a lot of attention to pull off right.
Of course, the weekend would not be complete without the bright midway lights of Robertson’s Amusements or the rocking all-Canadian musical lineup that will include headliners like Big Sugar, the Alan Jackson Experience, and Gail Gavan, who will keep the party rolling into the night without the fear of rainouts.
Renfrew Agricultural Society President Brad Smith notes that his team has “worked a pile of hours and days to improve the grounds” and deal with other snags, such as new rule changes from the provincial government, to put on a great family fair.
Dobec says the credit belongs to the whole team.
Guests can enjoy all four days of the Renfrew Fair with a special pre-sale-only admission pass for just $40 each, as well as all-access entertainment and day passes available right now online.
She invites anyone interested in volunteering, especially students looking to fulfill their community service time, to reach out to the Renfrew Agricultural Society team.
