Renfrew County’s paramedics are celebrating a major commitment to a program having a major impact right here at home.
Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, has committed $89 million towards making the province’s Community Paramedicine for Long-Term Care program permanent, a move that the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service explains will provide more local residents with “the care they need, when they need it—right in the safety of their own homes.”
Renfrew County’s Community Paramedicine program supported 2,415 active clients in 2024, completing 15,153 treatments, triaging 3,360 incoming referrals, and responding to 10,950 virtual consultations, resulting in a combined 15,496 home visits.
The investment ensures local paramedics can continue to provide those vital services for years to come.
