Police in Greater Madawaska are reminding the Ottawa Valley that the responsibility to make roads safer is on the driver.
The Renfrew OPP explain that their partners in the Highway Safety Division observed a fast-moving group of motorcycles along Centennial Lake Road at around 1:00 pm back on Saturday, July 26th.
Officers charged one motorcyclist, a 45-year-old from Newcastle, with stunt driving and speeding after they were caught travelling 151 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The OPP notes that they have been working with the community to improve enforcement measures and promote safer road use, pointing out that stretch of Centennial Lake Road has claimed three lives in the past five years thanks to dangerous driving habits.
Remember: speed kills, and speed limits are posted to keep everyone safe.
