The 3rd annual “Summer Jam” went this past Saturday at Finnigan’s Road House kicking off at 3:30 on a steaming hot Valley July afternoon. Live bands featuring Saw Mill Road, Ryan Zigs and The Zags and of course the Ghost Town Criers were on hand providing the best of local music against a backdrop of BBQ burgers, dogs and ice cold refreshments. All for a more than worthy cause.
Monique Yashinskie has been having a very busy summer but she says this fundraiser is one that she knew many were really looking forward to:
Support for The Robbie Dean Centre is always very strong in The Valley and few know that better than Paul Kelly, teacher and staunch supporter of anything relating to the importance of mental health. Paul was there for a cause but also to enjoy a good old summertime bash:
Kelly has been a long time supporter of The Robbie Dean Centre and an advocate for mental health in his own right for many years and he stresses that sometimes you just have to throw a great party to show support for such a serious issue in our society:
The final tally of funds collected on Saturday will be shared with us when they become available and we will pass that news on to you. Monique and Paul thank everyone who came out to support the cause and hope to see you next year at the 4th annual event.
