A Renfrew County community will feel the impact as the Beer Store has announced another round of retail location cuts.
CTV News is reporting that the Beer Store location in Deep River is one of 10 across the province that will shut down permanently on September 14th, joining locations in Ottawa, Hamilton, and the Greater Toronto Area.
Ozzie Ahmed, vice-president of retail for the Beer Store, has issued a statement on the closings, noting that “the retail market for beer is changing in Ontario, and for the Beer Store that means making the difficult decision to close some retail locations. This is not an easy decision and not one we make lightly.”
The Beer Store says that they will make “all efforts” to support employees through the closures but did not elaborate on how.
