Renfrew's Director of Infrastructure, Public Works, and Engineering, Andrea Bishop
The town of Renfrew is going ahead with a neighbourhood road project that’s been some time in the making.
Council awarded the reconstruction of Stevenson Crescent to McCrea Excavating Ltd. on Tuesday night, after they came in as the lowest bid from five interested contractors.
Director of Infrastructure Andrea Bishop says the project, which comes with a price tag of $290,804 plus tax, has been on the town staff’s mind for a while.
She also pointed out that the project will only need to rehabilitate the asphalt along the entire road because an investigation into the water, sewer, and existing storm infrastructure under the road done back in 2024 by its designers at the Parsons Corporation revealed they were still in good condition.
Council approved the project immediately at Bishop’s urging in order to ensure the work could be done in time to avoid issues with students returning to class at nearby Central Public School in the fall.
