Randy and Sarah Briscoe with their children Allie, Everett, Madison and Noah.
Randy Briscoe is right where he always knew he would be.
A third-generation farmer, he and his wife have owned 600-acre Donden Farm since 2015, where their four kids, aged nine to 17, play an active role in its operation. Primarily a dairy farm, Donden Farm also has some cash crops.
Briscoe’s grandparents started the farm in the early 1940s before his parents, Dennis and Dianne, took over in 1969 and subsequently focused on breeding and establishing a purebred Holstein line.
Briscoe returned to the family farm following his studies at the University of Guelph. In doing so, he fulfilled what was his destiny.
As for the prospect that one, or all of his kids, will be turn Donden Farm into a fourth-generation affair, Briscoe says time will tell.
