Canada’s weather agency says around half of Renfrew County will begin their Monday dealing with heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Environment Canada has a rainfall warning in place for parts of the Ottawa Valley this morning, as communities from Petawawa to Cobden can expect more rain after around 80 millimetres fell over the past 24 hours.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Drivers dealing with visibility issues due to rain are advised to turn their lights on and maintain a safe following distance from other traffic.
The rainfall warning has yet to be extended into Renfrew, Arnprior, and the surrounding area, which Environment Canada says can expect showers ending sometime Monday afternoon.
