
The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation along with MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Billy Denault are pleased to announce the official groundbreaking of the $3,912,800 Primary Health Care Centre construction project.
Syliva Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health emphasizes the importance of this project in improving health outcomes for the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan and highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting Indigenous health initiatives.
“The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan are grateful for the continued efforts of the Ontario Government to recognize the needs of our first nation. By providing this funding, AOPFN will not only be able to provide enhanced health care to the community but also expand on partnerships with PRH for Medical Residents, U of O for NP students and nursing students, Algonquin College for RN students” says Chief Greg Sarazin.
ASCO Construction has been awarded the project that will be approximately 4,500 square feet, designed to accommodate the primary health care team, visiting services, students, tradition/cultural programs, staff board room, kitchen, office space, reception and wait area and physio room.
