The Town of Arnprior has inked a deal with the Packers Junior B Hockey Club.
There’s been back and forth on the issue since Packers ownership approached Town Council in December, and Recreation Director Graeme Ivory has been working with the club behind these scenes.
Monday, Ivory was at Council to summarize the results.
In trying to assess factors to include in his calculations, Ivory realized there’s no cookie-cutter solution.
Ultimately the two working parts were what the Town had established as the revenue it needed from the space, and the figure the Packers had proposed to pay for it.
One potential sticking point was that of sponsor signage on the exterior of the Packers second-storey office space.
Ivory says the Town was adamant it not forfeit the revenue, as it has a ten-year loan to amortize.
The equivalency of the 2500 dollar lease fee is 25 days rental on an annual basis.
Council adopted By-law 7605-25 authorizing the Arnprior Packers Lease Agreement.
