Communities across Renfrew County continue to feel the effects of a heat wave passing through the province.
Environment Canada’s heat warning continues until late tonight, with daytime highs in the mid-30s feeling like the low-40s with humidity today until things begin to cool down this evening.
The weather agency urges you to limit direct exposure to the heat and to check in with those particularly vulnerable to heat exhaustion and stroke, such as young kids and the elderly, watching for symptoms like headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, and intense fatigue.
They also suggest planning activities for the coolest parts of the day, drinking water often even before you feel thirsty, and keeping blinds and shades closed to keep your space cool.
If your living space is too hot, check with town staff for local cooling stations such as libraries or community centres.
A cold front is expected to roll in late this evening, bringing temperatures back down to seasonal averages ahead of Wednesday morning.
