The Town of Renfrew will be among the communities implementing a new county-led safety measure meant for high-risk areas.
Staff with the County of Renfrew will be installing a new photo radar system at the pedestrian crossing on County Road 52 (Burnstown Road) near St. Joseph’s High School in a bid to help reduce speeding and protect vulnerable road users.
The Automated Speed Enforcement program is being delivered and maintained by LAS through AMO Business Services, with all ticket processing handled through the county’s Provincial Offences Act Office.
Drivers are reminded that the posted speed limit is the legal limit, and while the system does have a small grace range, it’s safest to always drive at or below the limit.
More details and updates on the new system can be found on the County of Renfrew’s website.
