The first significant heat event of the season will continue keeping the Ottawa Valley under hot and humid conditions.
All of Renfrew County can expect daytime highs in the mid-30s, feeling like the low-40s with humidity today, with little relief from the heat overnight.
Environment Canada suggests planning activities for the coolest parts of the day, drinking water often even before you feel thirsty, and keeping blinds and shades closed to keep your space cool. If your living space is too hot, move to a cool public space like a cooling centre, community centre, library, or shaded park.
The weather agency also says to watch for the early signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and others, such as headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine, and intense fatigue.
If you experience any of those symptoms, stop your activity and drink water.
The heat will continue until at least late Tuesday before a cold front pushes through that evening.
