Local police say a Monday afternoon crash just outside of downtown Barry’s Bay has left one driver with life-threatening injuries.
The OPP says their preliminary investigation indicates that a northbound car collided head-on with a southbound SUV along Combermere Road near Lakeshore Drive at around 2:15 p.m. yesterday.
The SUV left the roadway and rolled over, but the people inside escaped with only minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car would need to be extracted from the vehicle by the Madawaska Valley Fire Department and was subsequently taken to an Ottawa-area trauma centre.
The investigation is ongoing.
