Barb Bramburger, wife of the late Jamie Bramburger dropped into the myFM studio earlier this week to discuss a couple of tribute happenings for Jamie specifically at the PMC. During the conversation Barb let us in on another tidbit concerning Jamie this time relating to his work with Algonquin College
For years, Jamie’s Careers and College column in the Pembroke Observer and News served as a window into the life of Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus. He highlighted student successes, showcased program accomplishments, and captured the spirit and growth of the campus community.
After a number of discussions with the Bramburger family and key figures at Algonquin College, it’s been decided that Jamie’s words will live on, this time provided by long time friend and colleague of Jamie’s Jodi Bucholtz who is the acting manager of Community and Student Affairs at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Waterfront Campus.
The article will be renamed “College to Community” and will attempt to carry on the staunch community spirit throughout the College that Jamie strived to achieve.
Everyone who knew Jamie would say that he was incredibly community focused and carrying on his legacy in print is just one more way he leaves his indelible mark on Algonquin College and by extension all of Pembroke.
The rebooted article is expected to be released this fall and Jodi hopes that everyone will continue to remember Jamie as the true heartbeat of everything that is Algonquin College.
