
A new location marked this year’s Arnprior Lions Walk for Dog Guides Sunday in the Town Where the Rivers Meet. The event’s venue was the John Street entrance of the Algonquin Trail, and the weather defied expectations.
That’s Arnprior Lions Club President Ben Gardiner, who spoke to Oldies during the registration period.
Lion Raja Wysocki is a frequent attendee at the Arnprior event.
Wysocki commented on the historic aspects of the new site.
The Regional Coordinator of the Club’s Walks says there is a wide range of needs for dog guides in Canada.
Nationally this year’s campaign objective could train up to 45 dog guides through the Lions program.
About 25 walkers, some with their dogs, participated in the Sunday event on the Algonquin Trail.

Gardiner says if you couldn’t make it out on Sunday, you still have opportunity to support the campaign.
Lion Raja Wysocki enjoyed the hospitality she was shown in the community, and will be headed further up the Valley June 8th.
The Renfrew Lions Club Walk for Dog Guides takes place from the Ma-Te-Way Park Splash Pad on Sunday June 8th. Registration is at 11:00AM, and the walk begins at Noon. Pledge forms are available at Pet Valu Renfrew, or ask any Renfrew Lions Club member.
