The community came ready to dance over the weekend as the myFM Friends in Low Places Block Party returned to a fantastic crowd in Renfrew.
Country fans from across the Ottawa Valley and beyond made their way to the myFM Centre for a raucous night of dancing and singing along to Garth Brooks tribute act Black Tie Affair, bringing a spark that the band’s frontman, Shaun Savoy, says was second to none.
Hundreds of guests had a night to remember inside the arena’s main rink as they embraced the concert’s goal of bringing a little positivity to the Ottawa Valley, whether dancing up front near the stage or sitting back and enjoying the evening with friends and family.
The evening also marked an excellent moment in local charity, as the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, Patti Dillabough, joined myFM in the Morning’s Jamie Cybulski on stage during intermission to congratulate John Vereyken for winning their brand new 50/50 lottery and subsequently donating his $3,302 jackpot back into the Equip RVH campaign supporting vital equipment purchases.
It’s an atmosphere that Savoy says would be a dream to return to at the next block party, if possible.
