The latest Lutes Cousins Films, ‘Not a Love Story’, is now complete and locals have an opportunity to see it on Friday, May 16 in Renfrew.
Producer Anna Mary Grattan tells myFM they’ll be hosting a screening at the “iconic” O’Brien Theatre at 6:30 p.m.
Cast and crew will be joined by family and friends and members of the public for the event.
‘Not a Love Story’ features local actors and locations that include Kingburger and Lasso Live in Pembroke, the cemetery in Cormac, and the red covered bridge near Fort Coulonge.
Grattan reminds potential movie goers that Not a Love Story is gritty and not a family movie.
‘Not a Love Story’ is the third film in a trilogy that also includes Painted Sharks and Pictures of Us.
In April 2025, ‘Not A Love Story’ won multiple awards at the New York Film Awards, including Best Picture, Best Drama, Best Actress (Jennifer Lynn Christie), Best Supporting Actor (Kirk Dobbs), Best Supporting Actress (Zoë Ravera), Best Editing (Brian Lutes), Best Makeup (Meriem Karachira) and Best Ensemble.
Tickets are $10 and available through Grattan, e-transfers can be sent to annamaryh@sympatico.ca or call 613-281-1063.
A screening is also being held in Ottawa May 15.
