The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) are investigating an incident on O’Brien Road in Renfrew.
On Wednesday, May 7, Renfrew OPP responded to reports of a weapons-related incident near Renfrew Dollarama on O’Brien Road in Renfrew.
“Two people were taken into custody at the scene,” reads an OPP press release. “No weapons were located at the time of the arrest, but the investigation is continuing.”
A 53-year-old Whitewater Region Township man was charged with: possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a probation order.
“The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 18,” reads the release. “The second person arrested was released with no charges.”
