Renfrew’s Public Library is hoping some essential improvements will help foster a thriving cultural hub in town for years to come.
Library staff met with Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney, local Member of Provincial Parliament Billy Denault, and other representatives to celebrate the completion of two major community projects through grants supplied by the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The total $162,600 in funding, which was awarded to the town between May and September 2023, was split between significant and much-needed repairs to the library’s main entrance and the preservation of Renfrew’s cultural assets and growth through the development of the town’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Master Plan.
In a statement, Denault says projects like those at the library “exemplify the purpose of the Ontario Trillium Foundation: building stronger, more connected communities.”
Meanwhile, Sidney added that the initiatives inside the library are “a testament to the power of collaboration and community investment” as the town lays the foundation for “Renfrew’s cultural future, ensuring that our community’s heritage and arts continue to thrive and be celebrated.”
