In past years, stigmas surrounding mental health have stifled public discussion- and that’s enhanced fears about “psychotherapy” and its aims and objectives.
Chandan Singh-Beatty is a “Registered Psychotherapist-Qualifying”, which means she practices under supervision until writing her final exams in October.
Chandan attended Yorkville University and did her Masters in Counselling Psychology. Her client empathy stems from overcoming a lot in her own life.
She’s the proprietor of Brightspace Psychotherapy in Carleton Place and is in the process of expanding her practice to Almonte.
Chandan says there may be initial hesitation to share one’s troubles with a stranger- but there are two sides to that coin.
Chandan believes social media has played its part in helping people open up about Mental Health.
