Arnprior Council has moved quickly to fill the vacancy created when former member Billy Denault was elected to Queen’s Park in the February 27th Provincial Election.
Denault formally resigned from the municipal body a week ago; Council convened a special session to consider its options March 4th- and, at last night’s regular meeting, returned to a full complement of representatives.
That’s Arnprior Mayor Lisa McGee, giving an introduction where likely none was necessary.
While Councillor Strike did not seek re-election in the 2022 Municipal Election- as it turns out, October 11th of that year will not be remembered as his final appearance.
Last night Strike swore his oath of allegiance to a new monarch, as he rejoined his peers.
With 18 years under his belt, Arnprior’s newest councillor is also its most experienced.
