Arnprior Town Council received a thorough financial analysis from municipal treasurer Jennifer Morawiec Monday at a preliminary 2025 Budget meeting, then examined various tax increase scenarios.
Staff was recommending a 3.5% boost in local taxes.
Around the table, suggestions were received from elected representatives varying from two percent to four percent, then settled on the 3.25 percent hike recommended by Councillor Tom Burnette.
A recorded straw vote saw the measure pass four votes to two, and that will be the amount adopted when members pass the final 2025 Budget at Town Council’s regular meeting on February 10th.
