Maumer "Boomer" Brkic celebrates under the bright lights following his fight with Daniel Goel at Victory in the Valley 2
Eight months after a raucous debut in top-level Muay Thai, the Renfrew faithful made it clear they are still fully behind Maumer “Boomer” Brkic.
“Boomer” made his return to the Renfrew Armouries on Saturday night as Victory in the Valley drew a lively standing-room-only crowd for eight pulse-pounding fights, including the show-stopping bout between Brkic and Kingston’s Daniel Goel that promoter Jeff Harrison says capped off an excellent night.
The parallels of the two Victory in the Valleys were not lost on Harrison, as Goel made his A-Class debut in a losing effort against a fast-rising champion in the sport just as Brkic did just eight months prior.
That, along with fantastic showings from Renfrew Muay Thai talents like Marcus Ticknovich, Melanie Reid, and Charlie Leclaire, had both Harrison and representatives from Muay Thai Ontario in high spirits after the bell.
Harrison says the two straight sold-out events are nothing but good news for Renfrew Muay Thai as they continue to develop roots in the community.
He adds that it also means fight fans can expect Victory in the Valley to return for a third fight card at the Armouries later this year.
