The first Pancake Breakfast in McNab-Braeside since 2022 was held at the Murray Yantha Community Centre in McNab-Braeside last Saturday (January 25th).
The event offered up pancakes, sausages and baked beans to all who braved a frigid morning to dine with neighbours, share conversation- and share what was on their minds.
That’s resident Mike Groulx, who finds Township Council both informative, and entertaining.
Stacy Howard, of the Valley Agricultural Society, now frequently enjoys MYCC amenities.
Stacy also enjoyed Council’s Pancake Breakfast- and was likely the last to leave the hall, as the Valley Agricultural Society used it that afternoon for her organization’s Euchre Tourney.
Representative Scott Brum organized the event, and even borrowed spouse Debbie’s baked bean recipe.
He says there was more food than folks.
The Councillor adjusted his expectations, realizing that many people were filling up on second plates.
Councillor Kevin Rosien also contributed ingredients to make the day.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MP Cheryl Gallant is no stranger to these functions.
Cheryl herself has booked the Horton Hall in March.
The MP says circle March 3rd on your calendar.
One good pancake breakfast deserves another- and this coming Saturday, it’s the Braeside Winter Carnival, to be held at the J. Arthur Gillies Centre in Braeside; difference is, eggs have been added to your plate.
It’s a perfect way to kick off a day of winter fun! Adults – $10, Children 5-12 – $7, Children Under 4 – Free
Events at the Braeside Winter Carnival are on all day, and wrap up with the Carnival Dance Party.
