The Junior A Wolves believe that the future is bright in Renfrew.
Even as the team continues to shift towards emphasizing youth, prospects, and future assets during a disappointing season, the organization says they are committed to building on the impressive performances put together by several first-year players as they build towards a strong future.
In a recent statement, Club President Brent Gould says those emerging talents and the growing pipeline of players enjoying a dominant season with their Jr. B Timberwolves club highlight the Wolves’ robust developmental program as they continue to build “something special.” Gould adds that “the energy around this organization is truly contagious. When you combine young talent, veteran leadership, and a strong development system, it paves the way for long-term success.”
The club’s higher-ups also believe that they are poised to make a “substantial impact” at this year’s CCHL Spring Draft after securing five first-round picks through a series of recent trades, a haul that Wolves General Manager Jerrett Defazio says is an important part of “providing a winning program and developing players who can excel at the highest level.”
DeFazio will have his hands full as he continues to reshape the Wolves heading into the end of his first season at the helm, as he and other team officials are set to host a prospects camp at the start of May to find free agents who can elevate the team.
