The County of Renfrew, in collaboration with the Ottawa Valley Community Foundation, is pleased to announce that applications for the Sport for All Legacy Fund will open Feb. 3.
Established as a legacy of the Renfrew County 2023 Ontario Winter Games, the fund aims to support and promote sports participation and development within the County of Renfrew, ensuring accessibility for all residents.
The $375,000 fund will be distributed across three key areas:
- Youth Sport Grant (up to age 21): Allocating $20,000 annually, with grants up to $1,000 per request, to assist with equipment costs, travel expenses, registration fees, and more.
- Sports Clubs: Providing $20,000 annually, divided into four grants of $5,000 each, to support teams, clubs, and organizations with specific needs.
- Major Sports Infrastructure: Offering $40,000 annually, split into two grants of up to $20,000 each, for new construction or improvements to existing sports facilities. These grants aim to enhance accessibility, increase participation, improve facility quality, or introduce new sporting options.
“The fund was made possible through the generosity of local businesses and individuals, who collectively contributed nearly $400,000 during the Ontario Winter Games,” reads a press release.
The Foundation delivers annual grants to charitable organizations as part of their annual general meeting activities. In 2024, $26,513.13 was granted to a variety of organizations.
