An update from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit is good news for residents in the Beachburg area.
The RCHDU has lifted a boil water advisory that went in place across the village back on January 1st after a water main break led to the possibility of bacterial contamination in the Beachburg Drinking Water System.
Testing done by the Ontario Clean Water Agency has since confirmed that the water system is once again safe for use and consumption as of Saturday afternoon.
However, the RCHDU is advising water users in the area to run cold water faucets, drinking fountains, and garden hoses for one minute each before using the water. They also advise running water softeners through a regeneration cycle and draining and refilling hot water heaters set below 45 degrees Celsius.
More information can be found on the health unit’s website.
