A faulty block heater connection is the cause of a multi-vehicle fire on a property at the corner of Edey Street and Tom Gavinski Street in Arnprior Sunday evening.
Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia says a Ford F150 was reported to be on fire.
Because of the proximity of nearby vehicles, the blaze spread to one of them.
Everybody inside got out, and volunteer firefighters put out the blaze before it could spread to the living quarters.
Desarmia says two families were temporarily displaced last night as a result.
The Chief says the cause is believed to be the truck’s block heater- in use for the first time this season.
Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia says things could have been much worse.
Checking all heating devices does indeed include your vehicle’s block heater!
