One of the Ottawa Valley’s deepest connections to its heritage is ready to take you back in time for an old-fashioned holiday celebration.
The Mill of Kintail Museum in Almonte expects to welcome visitors from near and far for the Kintail Country Christmas from noon to 6:00 p.m. this Saturday, December 14th.
Property Manager Scott Lawryk says the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority will bring guests to the festivities in style with horse-drawn wagon rides through the conservation area and classic wintertime activities outside the museum.
Admission at the gate this Saturday is $25, and guests can reserve a time slot for a family photo with Santa Claus for just $10, with proceeds going right back into the Mill’s day-to-day operations.
Lawryk explains that the day has become a cherished part of the holiday season in Mississippi Mills, transforming from a small community gathering into something that continues to bring in year-round interest and support for the museum.
Guests are welcome to enjoy some modern comforts while taking in the vintage event thanks to El Patchos Tacos, SmokeBox Catering, and Beavertails joining them on-site all day, and don’t forget to stick around after dark for a magical evening under the Christmas lights and bonfire.
