Don’t call it a comeback; the Renfrew Lion’s Club has been here for years, and hope to keep it that way.
Diana Laroque says the volunteer organization is looking to rebuild their ranks after spending multiple months in limbo while the five remaining members looked for ways to encourage fresh blood to join the cause.
Those interested in taking part don’t need any qualifications to join the Lion, but the winning formula in the past is to just be available and willing to spend a few hours per week pitching in as the club lays out their the next year of community engagement.
Laroque, who has spent a number of years as a part of the Arnprior Lion’s Club, says the good a fully-developed Renfrew branch could bring the community is too valuable to give up on.
Your first chance to be part of the new look Renfrew Lion’s Club gets underway this weekend as volunteers spread out among the community to collect non-perishable food and cash to keep the Renfrew and District Food Bank stocked ahead of their always busy holiday season.
If you would like to take part, get in touch with the Lions Club by email.
