From now until Sunday, you can enjoy a delicious treat for a great cause with Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
Renfrew Tim Hortons owners Richard and Shelly Dean explain that half of proceeds benefit Tim Hortons Foundation Camps and half a local charity. They wanted to boost an organization that works particularly hard at Christmastime, so they chose the Renfrew and District Food Bank.
Richard tells us that the Holiday Smile Cookie is different than the one sold during the spring campaign.
Last year was the first time Tim Hortons launched the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, but you mightn’t have had the opportunity to try one of the specialty treats.
Stores were able to pivot and offer the chocolate chunk cookies with the signature smiles but this year, the sugar cookie production has been ramped up so there should be plenty to go around.
And there’s a new component to this year’s campaign that will benefit our community’s less fortunate. Often, customers would like to support the campaign but can’t eat or take a cookie for various reasons. Now, they can donate that cookie to a food bank client.
Richard and Shelly are so pleased to be giving back to the community and say they are extremely grateful to all who contribute to all the successful fundraising campaigns at Renfrew Tim Hortons.
Smile Cookie campaigns are an incredible operation to watch. Volunteers will be at both the Stewart Street and O’Brien Road stores from 5-9 p.m. every evening this week working on the cookies.
And it’s not just the volunteers who work overtime to keep things running smoothly.
The Holiday Smile Cookie campaign runs from Nov. 18-24.
