Police in Renfrew are crediting another group of first responders for their help in a recent late-night arrest.
The Renfrew OPP says officers made a traffic stop at around 11:50 p.m. on Monday, November 4th, after they were tipped off by an assisting agency that someone in the car was breaching the conditions of their release.
As part of their investigation, officers took the two people in the vehicle into custody before seizing multiple items from the car, including a firearm.
A 28-year-old man from Renfrew has been held for bail on sixteen charges, including:
- Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with
- Failure to comply with release order—other than to attend court, five counts
- Failure to comply with prohibition order, two counts
- Failure to comply with probation order, five counts
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

A 35-year-old woman from Renfrew who was also in the car has since been released from custody ahead of a court appearance in January for being in the vehicle knowing there was a firearm and for possessing unmarked cigarettes.
