Renfrew Victoria Hospital suggests patients and visitors avoid making non-urgent visits as they make some upgrades next week.
RVH have planned a network outage for between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Monday, November 11th, as the hospital performs essential maintenance that will ensure long-term stability and security in their IT infrastructure.
RVH says they will remain available for all care needs, but note that their emergency department might see longer that usual wait times, among other issues contacting the hospital by phone, fax, or email, during the outage.
They also Laboratory and Medical Imaging will not be available for walk-in appointments on that day.
“We will be taking every precaution possible to ensure patient safety is maintained and that the upgrades are completed as quickly and efficiently as possible,” stated Mary-Ellen Harris, RVH VP Patient Care, Quality, & Clinical Services/CNE. “We ask for your patience and understanding while this important work takes place.”
The hospital says that patients might want to consider alternative options for non emergency care such as your family physician, the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre, pharmacies, or walk-in clinics in the west end of Ottawa.
