The East Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reaching out to young people in eastern Ontario for help regarding threats against schools. The OPP understands that students are feeling anxious about these threats and wants to ensure everyone’s safety.
If any young person has information about threats or suspicious activities, they are encouraged to speak up. They can talk to trusted adults like teachers, parents, or the police. The OPP also reminds students that it’s okay to seek help if they are feeling overwhelmed.
Parents and other adults are invited to share any information they may have by contacting their local OPP detachment. The police are actively investigating these threats and are dedicated to keeping schools and communities safe.
For those who need someone to talk to, Kids Help Phone is available 24/7. Young people can visit their website at kidshelpphone.ca or call 1-800-668-6868. They can also text 686868 for support.
To report any information to the OPP, call 1-888-310-1122. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visit ontariocrimestoppers.ca. In emergencies, always call 9-1-1.
The OPP encourages everyone to stay vigilant and communicate any concerns to help maintain a safe environment for all students.
