The public is advised that soldiers from the 2 Combat Engineer Regiment will be conducting road moves between Petawawa and Ottawa, from November 9th to November 10th, as part of Exercise SPARTAN SAPPER.
A total of 20 vehicles will participate in this exercise, moving in groups of three to five at a time. On November 9th, the vehicles will travel from Garrison Petawawa to Connaught Range, taking the following route: Highway 17, Ottawa Road 29, Ottawa Road 17, Ottawa Road 22, Dunrobin Road, Vances Side Road, and Torwood Drive. They will return to Garrison Petawawa along the same route on November 10th.
Soldiers will carry their weapons, but there will be no live or blank ammunition in transit. The convoy will include wheeled light armoured vehicles, medium logistic support trucks, recovery vehicles, and heavy construction equipment.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution and be aware of the military vehicles on the road during this time.
