It was a way to celebrate local artists during Ontario Public Libraries Week.
Sharon Shalla, art co-ordinator for the Renfrew Public Library, explains that this week’s Meet the Artist event was a bit of a dream come true.
Guests had a chance to peruse a variety of beautiful artwork and chat with the talented creators.
Shalla tells us that most of the featured artists have their work on display at the library on a rotating basis.
Her comment on the local arts scene?
And the artists came not only from the outer community but from within the library, as well.
Donna Morey, staff member, is a talented artist based in Hurd’s Lake.
And librarian Emily Krose is another skilled artist.
Featured artists included Jill Alexander, Marilyn Kenopic, Barbara Tomasini, Scott Rubie, Donna Morey, Emily Krose and Frank Harper.
Chris and Tanya’s No Frills generously provided refreshments and snacks for the evening.
There are several activities planned at the Renfrew library this week, including Thursday’s visit from Renfrew Reads 2024 author Ian Hamilton.
