Kelly Latendresse was all smiles after being named Acting CAO for the Town of Renfrew on Tuesday, September 24th.
Tuesday night’s council meeting in Renfrew squared away who would be directing town staff while the hunt for a permanent leader gets underway.
Council has passed a by-law appointing current Director of Community & Recreation Services Kelly Latendresse as the town’s acting Chief Administrative Officer effective Monday, September 30th.
Reeve Peter Emon says Latendresse brings over two decades of experience and dedication to municipal service and library administration to the position, sporting a municipal career that covers more than 18 years in Deep River and Petawawa before coming to Renfrew.
Latendresse later became Acting Director of Parks and Recreation before being promoted to her current role, where she also serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Renfrew Public Library.
Reeve Emon would take a moment on Tuesday night to address Latendresse directly, noting that she has the full support of council going forward.
Latendresse says that she is looking forward to collaborating with the council, staff, and residents to further support Renfrew’s growth, directing staff based on the council’s directions while the town finds a permanent replacement for outgoing CAO Rob Tremblay.
The Town notes that Latendresse will be working closely with Tremblay leading up to his official departure on October 4th to ensure that key initiatives and projects remain on track.
