NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is withdrawing his party from the supply-and-confidence agreement that has been supporting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority Liberal government.
Singh announced his decision to end the partnership before the fall session of Parliament, citing his belief that the Liberals are “too weak” and “too selfish” to effectively advocate for the middle class and counter the Conservatives.
The agreement between the two parties was originally signed in March 2022 and was intended to last until June 2025.
