Gail Laird is the executive director of the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the annual awards event but this year, things are going to look a little, or a lot, different.
Gail Laird is the executive director of the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce.
She tells myFM that because the chamber is the voice of business, more focus has been placed on just that. The awards also have a new name, and the nominations have opened up to partnering municipalities Horton, Greater Madawaska and Admaston-Bromley.
The list of awards that will be given out has also been revamped.
Other awards include: Employee of the Year, Youth Employee of the Year Award, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the Hospitality Award.
Nominees need not be members of the chamber, Laird noted.
The awards event itself is a much-anticipated great time, said Laird.
The Pinnacle of Business Excellence Awards gala will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the myFM Centre.
The former community awards doled out by the chamber included Citizen of the Year and Youth of the Year and some variation of those honours will be taken over and awarded by the town, likely in April during Volunteer Month.
To nominate a business, visit the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce website. Nominations are open until Sept. 19.
