The OPP in Renfrew County have laid criminal charges following four separate incidents of intimate partner violence.
On August 13, 2024, a 36-year-old Belleville resident was charged with uttering threats and mischief in Madawaska Valley. On August 16, a 53-year-old from Eganville was charged with mischief in Bonnechere Valley.
On August 17, a 30-year-old from Bonnechere Valley was charged with assault, uttering threats, forcible confinement, and weapon possession on the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation Territory. The next day, a 30-year-old from Whitewater Township was charged with assault, forcible confinement, and breaching release conditions in North Algona Wilberforce. Both remain in custody awaiting bail hearings.
