The 96.1 myFM All Hands on Deck Food Drive returns later this week, helping families in need on both sides of the Ottawa River.
Our station’s general manager, Bob Dillabough, lays out the plan for this Thursday, August 22nd.
You’re encouraged to drop off food, toiletries, and cash at the trailers parked outside Chris and Tanya’s No Frills and the Renfrew Metro, as well as the Bouffe Pontiac tent outside Shawville’s Giant Tiger.
Not sure what to donate? Dillabough says the food banks have you covered.
Dillabough admits that he has lofty expectations for donations this Thursday, but adds that he knows how supportive the communities on both sides of the river can be.
The timing of the All Hands on Deck food drive ensures that both food banks are full ahead of back-to-school season, a time when families facing food insecurity are hit particularly hard.
