Members of County of Renfrew council, along with senior staff, are attending the Association of Municipalities of Ontario) annual conference in Ottawa Aug. 18-21.
County officials were successful in obtaining five delegations, during which they will discuss issues of importance to Renfrew County residents.
County of Renfrew meetings include:
- Ministry of Health and Addictions
- Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Ministry of Long-Term Care
- Ministry of Finance
- Ministry of Education
“Among the issues to be discussed with provincial ministries by elected officials and county senior staff at the conference are sustainable funding for the Mesa program, including capital and operational investments; funding for a pilot program for an Emergency Management Volunteer Civilian Protection Task Group; additional funding for the Community Paramedic Long-Term program; additional child-care spaces for Renfrew County and the impact of delays in property reassessment,” reads a press release.
