The 2024 Memorial Butterfly Release Ceremony in Arnprior will take place this Sunday, (August 18th) at Robert Simpson Park.
This event is organized by the Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program and the release ceremony is presented by Gina Pilon, of Arnprior’s Pilon Family Funeral Home.
Of course the symbolism is also relevant to those whom we have lost.
It serves as a beautiful way to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away.
Because registration for the Butterfly Release closed last week, it is easy to predict the possible attendance.
Gina says it’s a moving event to participate in, but spectators are also welcome.
Those participants who cannot attend, can request that a volunteer release the butterflies on their behalf.
Come early, and everything will run smoothly. Above all, bring along a parasol.
Showers are in the forecast- but that has yet to stop any butterfly from soaring.
The event not only provides a moment of reflection and remembrance, but also supports the Seniors at Home Program, which offers various services to the community.
