Pat McGregor, outside Renfrew Victoria Hospital
Renfrew’s Pat McGregor says she has one last half marathon to go and will use it to do some good.
She’s more than half-way to meeting her goal in donations for Renfrew Victoria Hospital ahead, running just over 22 kilometres along the myFM Centre Walking Track during the early morning of August 17th.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough did not have to think long when McGregor came calling about teaming up to raise money for their Equip RVH campaign.
McGregor’s goal is to raise $7,200, one hundred for each year she’s lived, to help the hospital purchase vital, life-saving equipment that will keep a high level of care close to home.
Dillabough says it’s just another example of how much people in the area appreciate the services RVH offers.
Meanwhile, McGregor will likely be keeping tabs on what’s happening at the myFM Centre’s Walking Track, which has closed while the Town of Renfrew’s crews install the new rubberized surface.
Recreation Operations Specialist Shawn Eckford says they’ve been staying in touch with each other.
It’s McGregor’s tenth and final half-marathon, capping off a personal tradition she describes as “one of her crazy ideas” that began by accident years ago.
Donations can be made through the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation website.
