August is looking like a top-shelf month when it comes to adult programming at the Renfrew Public Library.
Here are nine fun free things you can sign up for:
- One-Star Reviews – Each Monday, all August, RPL will list three one-star reviews (written by real reviewers) of a book and you guess what book it is.
- Stargazing Night – Friday, Aug. 9 at 9:30 p.m., meet the library at RCAF Memorial Park and learn about the Perseid Meteor Shower. Ages 13-plus. Registration preferred. - Cuppa Crime – Thursday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m., readers of mystery, true crime and thrillers unite to share recommendations and chat about their latest reads.
- Chess – Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 3:30 p.m., stop by the library for drop-in chess and hone your strategy skills. Drop in.
- Greenscreen Vacations – Saturday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. Be photoshopped into the holiday destination of your choice using the greenscreen.
- Downtown Storywalk – Stroll through downtown and read a story in the windows of local businesses.
- Braiding 101 – Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 3 pm., an expert hairstylist will be on hand to help you with all your hair-braiding questions. Registration required
- Board Game Cafe – Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m., this month’s featured game is Really Loud Librarians. Pre-registration recommended. Ages 14-plus.
- Love of Literature – Thursday, Aug. 23, 6 p.m. Read and discuss 15 Dogs by Andre Alexis. Registration preferred.
