What should have been a great cap to the season for Renfrew Minor Baseball has been turned upside down.
The league says their canteen at Ma-te-Way Park was broken into during their year-end tournament this past weekend, and all of the items, player prizes, and raffle baskets were stolen in the process.
They call it an incredible loss for a smaller association of around 150 players, which relies on the volunteer-run canteen to keep fees low for families, fund tournaments, and subsidize the cost of field rentals all season.
Renfrew Minor Baseball will continue to run for the remainder of the season thanks to a few kind donations, and they are asking people who may have information that could help solve the case to reach out to either the league or local police.
