Here’s a cool thought on a hot day; Renfrew Minor Hockey is now taking registration for next season.
Association President Kyle Schroeder says parents can sign their kids up for everything from Under-7 to the new Under-21 division on their website, as long as the player account is free of outstanding fees from previous years.
He adds that they will be returning to a 3-installment payment plan for families who wish not to pay in one lump sum, with 50% of the registration fee plus any extras due on the date of signing up and two payments of 25% each due on September 20th and October 20th.
Installments can be made by post-dated checks or through a credit card on file, while families paying all at once can do so by check, E-Transfer, or credit card.
Schroeder also reminds families who need help covering the cost of registration that they have options: head to the RMHA website for links to programs from Jumpstart, the Hockey Canada Foundation, and KidsSport Renfrew County, who can also help in securing equipment for players.
Kids playing in the Under-9 division and up will need to pay $25 for an evaluation jersey, which they will be wearing during the first conditioning and evaluation skating sessions of the season and as a practice jersey throughout the season.
Families who are not participating in two of the mandatory RMHA fundraising endeavours throughout the season will also need to pay a $100 fee.
More information and the links to register can be found on the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association website.
